Next door, literally

Wood Dale and Itasca share a border, with Itasca on Wood Dale's west side. Elk Grove Village sits to the north, Bensenville to the east and Addison to the south, so a truck based here can be working in four other towns before lunch. Our shop at 1337 E Industrial Dr is about 1.4 miles from the center of Wood Dale: west on Irving Park Road (IL-19) for about a mile, right on Prospect Avenue, and you are here in roughly 3 minutes without traffic.

That proximity changes how a wrap project feels. A driver can drop a van off and walk or get a short ride back. If you want to see printed color samples or check on the install, it costs you ten minutes, not a morning. And for fleets, it makes a steady rotation of vehicles through our shop easy to manage.

An industrial city on O'Hare's western edge

Wood Dale describes itself as sitting on the western edge of O'Hare International Airport and within 10 minutes of four interstate highways. The city counts 9.2 million square feet of existing industrial and flex space and 855 private businesses, which is a lot of commercial activity for a city of about 14,000 residents and under five square miles. Manufacturing is the largest employment sector among jobs located in Wood Dale.

The names on the city's list of top employers tell the story: Prime Now, Quest Diagnostics, Videojet, AAR Corp, Power Solutions, Wiegel Tool Works, Tempco Electric and Nippon Express, among others. That mix of manufacturing, diagnostics and logistics puts a lot of trucks, vans and service vehicles on Wood Dale streets, and every one of them is either advertising a business or wasting the chance.

The roads that carry it

The Elgin O'Hare Tollway (IL-390) runs along Wood Dale's north side, with exits at Prospect Avenue and Wood Dale Road. The city also promotes the Thorndale Corporate Corridor for business and hospitality development. Wood Dale Road matters just as much; a city official has called it Wood Dale's front door. Developments like Bridge Point Wood Dale, two industrial buildings at 700 N. Wood Dale Road, sit right along it.

The downtown is the other half of the picture. Wood Dale's central business district centers on Irving Park Road and Wood Dale Road, near the Metra Milwaukee District West station at 199 Division Street. The city reports more than 23,000 vehicles a day on Irving Park Road, and two major shopping centers with tenants such as Target, Jewel-Osco and Petco.

Designing for business-to-business traffic

In Wood Dale, many of the people who see your vehicle are buyers, not consumers. Plant managers, warehouse supervisors, purchasing staff and other drivers in the same industrial parks are the ones watching who pulls up to the dock. That calls for a different approach than a residential service van.

  • Say what you do for businesses. "Industrial electrical and controls" or "Forklift repair, on-site" is more useful to a plant manager than a generic tagline.
  • Make box truck sides count. A box truck's flat sides are some of the largest, cleanest advertising surfaces on the road. Keep the layout simple enough to read from across a truck yard or the next lane of the tollway.
  • Plan around fleet identification. Unit numbers, consistent placement of logos and matching colors across vans, pickups and trucks make a fleet look organized, which is what B2B customers want to see.
  • Keep required markings in mind. If your trucks need specific identification for regulatory reasons, tell us what has to appear and where, and we will design around it.

Because no two box bodies are quite alike, box trucks get an individual quote rather than a list price; the make, body length and a few photos are enough to start. Our box truck wrap page covers what we need to quote one.

Rolling out a Wood Dale fleet

Logistics and manufacturing companies rarely want every vehicle down at once. With one install bay, we take fleet vehicles in sequence, and a typical install takes a single day. Because we are so close, a driver can drop one vehicle off in the morning and pick up the finished one the next day without the trip becoming a project of its own.

Every vehicle in a rollout is designed and approved up front. You see a free mockup before you pay, get a written quote within 24 hours, and once you approve the design the graphics are ready in 3 to 5 business days. Pricing rewards volume: 3% off from the second vehicle, then 7%, 10% and 12% once a project reaches 5, 10 and 25 vehicles. Our guide to fleet wraps in Chicagoland goes into planning a multi-vehicle project.

Vehicle Wrap Questions From Wood Dale Businesses

Ask us anything else: 847-637-0009.

How close is your shop to Wood Dale?

Very close. Our shop at 1337 E Industrial Dr in Itasca is about 1.4 miles from central Wood Dale, roughly 3 minutes without traffic. It is a short hop west on Irving Park Road (IL-19) and north on Prospect Avenue. Many drivers drop a vehicle off and get a short ride back to work.

Do you wrap box trucks for Wood Dale logistics and manufacturing companies?

Yes. Box trucks are priced on request rather than from a fixed starting price, because body lengths and styles vary so much. Send us the make, model, body length and a few photos, and we will return a written quote within 24 hours along with a free design mockup.

We run trucks in and out of an industrial park near O'Hare. What should our wrap emphasize?

Who you serve and what you do for them. In Wood Dale's industrial areas, the people watching your vehicle are often plant managers, dock staff and other businesses, so a specific service line works better than a slogan. Keep logos and colors consistent across the fleet, and use unit numbers if you track vehicles that way.

How do you wrap a fleet without taking all our vehicles off the road?

We schedule them one at a time. We have a single install bay and most installs take one day, so you can rotate vehicles through while the rest keep working. Being three minutes from Wood Dale makes daily drop-offs simple. Fleet discounts are 3% for two to four vehicles, 7% for five to nine, 10% for 10 to 24, and 12% for 25 or more.

How long do the wraps last on work trucks?

Plan on 5 to 7 years of life from our 3M and Avery premium cast films, with our workmanship warranted for 5 years. Trucks that sit in an open yard near the airport all day see more sun and grime than garaged ones, so regular washing matters more for a working fleet.

Can you remove old graphics from vehicles we just added to our fleet?

Yes. Used trucks often arrive carrying a previous owner's graphics, and we strip them in the shop before rebranding. Removal starts at $800. Photos of each unit's current graphics let us price removal and the new wrap together, so the fleet budget has no surprises.
