Where an Addison work vehicle gets seen

Addison sits at the north end of the Veterans Memorial Tollway. I-355 has an interchange at Army Trail Road inside the village and another at Lake Street (US-20) on the Addison–Itasca line before it ends at I-290, so a truck based here can be on two interstates within minutes of leaving the yard. Route 83 and North Avenue also cross the village, and Route 83 meets both Lake Street and I-290 in the Addison area.

That mix matters for a wrap. A van that spends the morning on I-355 and the afternoon on Army Trail Road is read in two very different ways: for a second or two at tollway speed, and for much longer at a red light. The design has to work in both situations.

Army Trail Road is also one of the oldest routes in the county. Winfield Scott's troops built it in 1832 on top of a Potawatomi trail through what is now Addison. Today the stretch near I-355 includes multi-tenant flex buildings such as the Centerwest Business Park at 2055 Army Trail Road.

The Lake Street corridor

Lake Street is Addison's main retail strip. Walmart, Sam's Club, Office Depot and the 20-screen Marcus Cinema all sit along it, and the mayor has pointed to the corridor's transformation and the dozens of new businesses it has welcomed. Industrial investment continues there too: a developer has closed on a 9.8-acre site at 2349 W. Lake St. for a 140,122-square-foot industrial building scheduled for early 2027. For a service company, Lake Street is where a parked, wrapped van does its quiet work, in a store lot, outside a supply counter or at a lunch stop.

The businesses behind Addison's fleets

Addison's largest employers tell you what kind of town it is. The village's 2025 list is led by UPS with about 1,700 workers, followed by Parts Town, The Pampered Chef, Walmart, Porter Pipe & Supply, Veritiv and Republic Services. That is logistics, food-service parts, distribution and waste hauling, with corporate offices mixed in.

Addison also has nearly as many jobs as residents. Choose DuPage puts total employment at close to 29,000, against a 2020 population of about 35,700. In practice, much of your audience here is other businesses: the warehouse managers, buyers and facility staff who walk past your van at their loading dock and need a plumber, electrician or cleaning crew next month.

Matching the wrap to the vehicle

  • Cargo vans for plumbing, HVAC, electrical and parts delivery. The big flat sides take a full or partial wrap well, and the rear doors are what the driver behind you on Lake Street stares at.
  • Box trucks for distribution and food-service routes. The box is essentially a billboard; lettering has to clear the roll-up door, hinges and handles.
  • Pickups for contractors and landscapers. Spot graphics or a partial wrap on the doors and tailgate are often enough.

Designing for I-355 versus a loading dock

A wrap read at highway speed follows different rules from one read by someone standing next to it. For the tollway and I-290, keep the message to three things: what you do, your name and one way to reach you. Large type, strong contrast, no paragraph of services. For vehicles that spend most of the day parked at job sites in Addison's industrial blocks or in the Lake Street lots, there is room for a short service list and a QR code near the door.

We work that balance out on the free design mockup before you pay anything. You see the vehicle from both sides and the rear, and you can ask for changes until it reads the way you want. Film is premium cast vinyl from 3M or Avery, and every install carries a 5-year workmanship warranty.

Eight minutes from Addison to the shop

Addison is one of the closest towns to our shop. From the village center, the drive north on Addison Road to Irving Park Road (IL-19), then west to Prospect Avenue and Industrial Drive in Itasca, is about 3 miles and roughly 8 minutes without traffic. Drop-off fits easily around a working day: someone can bring the van over in the morning and be back on a job before lunch, and most installs are finished in a single day.

The short distance helps fleets as well. We run one install bay, so a multi-vehicle rollout is scheduled one vehicle at a time, which usually means only one Addison truck is out of service on any given day. Production is ready 3 to 5 business days after you approve the mockup, and fleet pricing steps down as the number of vehicles goes up.

Vehicle Wrap Questions From Addison Businesses

Ask us anything else: 847-637-0009.

How far is your shop from Addison?

Our shop at 1337 E Industrial Dr in Itasca is about 3 miles from the center of Addison. Take Addison Road north to Irving Park Road, head west, then turn onto Prospect Avenue. Without traffic it is roughly an 8-minute drive, so you can drop a van off in the morning and have someone back at work quickly. Most installs are finished in one day.

Our vans run I-355 and Lake Street every day. What kind of design works best?

Plan for two kinds of viewers. On I-355 and I-290 people get a second or two, so your company name, what you do and one phone number or web address should be large and high on the panel. On Lake Street and Army Trail Road, where vehicles sit at lights and in parking lots, a short service list and a QR code near the door also get read. We show both views on the free mockup.

Can you wrap a fleet that works out of an Addison warehouse without taking every truck off the road?

Yes. We have one install bay, so fleet vehicles come through one at a time on a schedule you set, and the rest of your trucks keep working. Because Addison is only about 8 minutes from the shop, swapping vehicles in and out is easy. Fleet discounts are 3% for 2–4 vehicles, 7% for 5–9, 10% for 10–24 and 12% for 25 or more.

Do you wrap box trucks for Addison distributors?

We do. Box trucks vary too much in box length, door style and body type for a fixed starting price, so we quote each one individually. Send the make, model, box length and a few photos, and you will have a written quote within 24 hours. The free design mockup comes before you pay anything, so you can see the truck from both sides and the rear first.

How long will a wrap last on a work van that sits outside every night?

We use premium cast films from 3M and Avery, and typical film life is 5 to 7 years. Our installation work is covered by a 5-year workmanship warranty, and everything is printed, laminated and installed in our own Itasca shop, so one team is responsible for the result from start to finish. Our article on how long vehicle wraps last goes into more detail.

Is there anything to check before parking a lettered van at home in Addison?

It is worth a quick call. Some homeowners associations and villages have rules about commercial or lettered vehicles parked in residential driveways, so ask your HOA or the Village of Addison before you settle on a design. The answer will not change how we build the wrap, but it may affect whether you choose a full wrap or more discreet spot graphics.
